Buckskin Caddis

Buckskin Caddis

Ed Marsh probably didn't realize just how effective and long lasting this pattern would be when it was created back in the 70's.

This free-living caddis is a tailwater staple. Dredge it along the bottom and trail with a pupa or emerger during the height of a caddis hatch. It's never a bad idea to trail any classic baetis pattern off of this either.

This fly represents something all tailwater trout are used to seeing every day... hence the lead fly!
