Brian has a passion for helping those that save lives to save their own. In his 21 years, in behavioral health, he has held roles such as Clinical Manager, for FEMA created teams, to provide clinical guidance to the relief teams serving regions of NC after hurricane Matthew. Prior to his current career, Brian served 7 years in the Army as a preventive medicine specialist, a team leader, and a combat veteran during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was part of the NBC Rapid Response team in Washington DC prior to 9/11 attacks. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor with the state of Colorado; is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor with the state of Kansas; is certified in Neuro-psychotherapy; and internationally certified in treating gaming disorder. He is also a gambling addiction counselor; 5 years in North Carolina, 7 years in Kansas, and now in Colorado. He has presented on the impact of trauma exposure and importance of mental health to first responders during Seward County Community College’s annual Salute to Heroes and to a five state (CO, KS, OK, NM, TX) emergency management conference. Brian’s presentation will benefit first responders and non-first responders alike.
