Off the Water – Finding the Quiet When Life Gets Loud
February 17 @ 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

Join us for Off the Water—a free, online men’s night focused on mental fitness and personal growth. This month, we’re diving deep into the physiological and emotional roots of stress and reactivity with a speaker who isn’t afraid to keep it real. Pam Chapman’s therapy practice “Embrace the Suck” helps “people who don’t want to talk about their feelings, but probably should.” She is authentic and straightforward with practical advice that is useful for all of us.
If you have ever asked yourself the following questions, then this event is for you.
Why do my reactions sometimes feel bigger than they need to be?
Why can’t I calm down when I want to?
Why do I say things I instantly regret?
Why are my go-to coping skills suddenly not working?
Together, we’ll unpack why stress hijacks your brain, why old coping skills stop working, and why many of us are already running hot before anything even goes wrong. Pam will introduce the crucial concept of your stress “baseline.” (Did you know most people are operating at a 5 or 6, not a 0?) Understanding this physiological reality is the first step toward gaining control over your brain function and emotional responses, so you can respond instead of react at work, at home, and in your relationships.
This event is free and open to all men. We’ll meet via Zoom.
