Off the Water – Mindfulness for an “Always On” World

Join us for Off the Water, our monthly online gathering dedicated to building community and expanding our mental health toolbox. This month’s session: Mindfulness for an “Always On” World with Chris Brown.
Modern life places constant demands on our attention. Many of us spend our days in an “Always ON” state. Over time, for some of us, our minds and nervous systems don’t fully turn OFF. That constant activation can quietly affect our health, relationships, and overall well-being.
This interactive session introduces mindfulness skills to help intentionally shift out of “Always ON” mode when it’s not needed. Through a personal story, audience interaction, and guided mindfulness practices, participants will learn what mindfulness is (and isn’t), why it matters, and how to begin practicing it in everyday life.
Chris Brown is a retired Delaware State Trooper, certified mindfulness and meditation teacher, and founder of The Longevity Habit. He holds master’s degrees in School Counseling and Public Administration. During his 20-year law enforcement career, he worked as a detective in a robbery unit and with the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division.
After experiencing the cumulative effects of living in an “Always ON” state firsthand, Chris became passionate about helping others understand its impact on long-term health. Through mindfulness and nervous system training, he teaches simple, evidence-based skills to help people intentionally shift out of “Always ON” when it’s not needed.
