About the event
Trauma: what is it and how can it affect our daily lives? Trauma is an often misunderstood, and under discussed topic. When we think about trauma, we may immediately think of the worst of the worst: a major car crash, soldiers returning home from war, and so on. But “the T word” extends well beyond these events, and can have ripple effects out into our relationships, our
sense of self worth, our health, our job, and our friendships.
In this session of Off the Water, we’ll focus on:
- A working definition of trauma and some of its symptoms
- Understanding how trauma affects our bodies
- Understanding how trauma affects our relationships
- Ways to make traumatic symptoms more workable, and find support
This session will be a chance to learn a little bit about trauma, connect to other men, and believe it or not, have fun!
