Join us in celebrating Jim Flint as he steps into the role of Fishing the Good Fight’s first Executive Director! Here’s a message from Jim:
Two years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Jennings Hester, and I was deeply impressed. Jennings is a man who, after reaching the pinnacle of success as an elite college athlete and then facing the depths of despair due to depression and anxiety, chose to dedicate himself to helping others. He understands that true healing comes from relationships and community. Jennings is a rare type of individual who combines compassion with action, and it’s through this action that Fishing the Good Fight was born.
Jennings along with founding board members Baker, Jeff, and Raj introduced me to their unique vision of merging fly fishing with mental health support for men. Having collaborated with numerous nonprofits throughout my career, this concept immediately stood out to me. So, when they invited me to join the team as Operations Director, I didn’t hesitate.
Since then, we’ve made significant progress in developing programs and building a community of men dedicated to self-improvement. The men who attend our transformative retreats are ready for change and eager to be more present in their relationships—with their partners, children, colleagues, and friends. Fishing the Good Fight is guiding them on this journey.
I am profoundly honored to accept the role of Fishing the Good Fight’s first Executive Director. The need is substantial, and we have much work ahead of us. However, the effort is worthwhile—improving the lives of these men also enhances the entire community around them. I hope you’ll join us in this noble mission.
Wellness and tight lines,
Jim Flint
Executive Director
